Portland Harbour Ham Beach
Ham beach runs the full distance of the causeway that links Weymouth to Portland. A large car park is situated half way down the beach. Launching will take place opposite this car park. The beach consists of small rocks bordered by grass. The water area has a sand bottom. A kitesurf permit must be obtained to kitesurf in the Harbour.
- Activity: Kitesurfing. All levels. Insurance Needed.
- Works best: South West, West, East and South East.
- To be avoided: Strong Easterly winds at high spring tides.

Control Measures
- All Kitesurfers to read Club constitution
- Be aware of people and animals on the shoreline. Only launch when surrounding area is clear.
- Be aware of other water users and show consideration at all times.
- Wet boots recommended due to rocky launch surface.
- Race entrance and channel can run up to 6knts in big spring tides, kitesurfers must keep clear of this area during low and high tide movements.
- Ensure safe distance is maintained from moorings and boats.
