Ringstead Bay

Ringstead Bay is located approximately 4 miles east of Weymouth town centre on the A353. It has a shingle and sand beach, a private car park, and café plus shop, which is open during the holiday season.

  • Activity: Kitesurfing I.K.O level 3 +. Advanced kitesurfers only.
  • Works best: West thru Southerly.
  • To be avoided: Offshore winds & Hightide.

Control Measures

  1. All Kitesurfers to read Club constitution
  2. Maintain safe distance from boats and moorings.
  3. Ensure beach area is clear of all persons and animals when launching and landing.
  4. Only kitesurf when water is deep enough to safely clear the Reef.
  5. Ensure adequate beach available for safe launching of kite.
  6. Be aware and give consideration to other water users.
