The Bog Wall

Welcome to the BOG WALL! The kite surfing message board. Originally created in 2001 using the very basic functions of web based communication. Simple as it is, it's as popular today in it's simplicity as it was all those years ago... Enjoy!

You have to be logged in to add to the wall.

Hey Guys I've recently expanded to run wave coaching courses and holidays now and have a short burst session weekend running just up the road from you in Westward Ho! this weekend - 27/28th October 2012. There is a basic wave course for people just starting out with wave riding and trying to get to grips with their wave board running from 10am - 1pm on Sunday There is also 2 upper wave courses for those who are more competent on the waveboard and would like to learn more about riding the waves, how to deal with bigger conditions and how to get the most out of each wave. This is from 2pm - 5pm on both the 27/28th October. As usual the course is £65 and there are a maximum of 4 places available on any one course. There are only a couple of spots left, but would be great if any one wanted to come! The forecast is westerly and north westerly, so spot on and pumping! If you'd like to book a place please send fill in this form and I'll get back to you! http://www.jowilsoncoaching.com/uk-tourprices/book-now/ Hope you can make it!! Jo

LOST North Jamie Pro 2006. I went and left my board on the beach at Ringstead yesterday. It wasn't in reach of the sea so it's been moved by someone, just hoping it's a kind and trusty kiteboarder! If you've found it PLEASE let me know. Thanks!

I think i left it down near the bluewater / weymouth watersports setup or parking area on Sunday about 15:30 ish. If anyone has picked it up or knows where it is, can you let me know. Number is 07961904707, Cheers, Mike

Had nice potter around harbour on my board and 5.5m sail. Lots of kites around, most only managing downwind specials even on 15m.

Hey Phil. Firstly as written on your permit you should contact Portland Port Authority to let them know you have lost your board, their number is on the back of your permit. We don't want to trigger a search operation for a missing kitesurfer if someone finds your equipment, or for it to damage someones boat if they sail over it by accident. Next if your board has been found then hope the person who founds it is decient enough to give you a call to let you know its safe. Alternatively it may find its way to Paracademy so you can always give Spencer or Rob a shout down there. Appart from that its a case of fingers crossed and hope it turns up. Hipe that helps Chris

Darn. lost my kitesurfing board yesterday afternoon in Portland harbour. I spent as long as possible out with a windsurfer looking for it, but ran out of daylight. I'm hoping that it drifted in amongst the breakwaters & pontoons at the Sailing Academy. Any ideas who I should contact that might find it, either in the Academy, or all the way out at the harbour wall? Make: CrazyFly Length: 154 Colour: Gray & Black marked with my name & phone number. thanks. Phil Horder

Hi Anyone know what I can do about a lost permit. Bought one till the end of the year but the buggers come off. Do I have to buy a new one or can I get one sent to me. Does the harbour master have a record of who has got one? then i can prove to him who I am and happy days. Cheers Wayner

Great session on Saturday after a long time away from kites sailing planks. Mind you wI as in sunny Brittany at my usual holiday haunt of Lancieux. When I came off the water counted 65 kites in the air.... big bay mind and only really had to put the brakes on a few times as the tide goes out very fast and occasionally people got clumped together because of it.

The forum idea has been scrapped. It took too much policing by me and someone slipped the net to deposit porn all over the bloody thing. As I cannot be in two places at once and no one was using it anyway I have binned the idea and reverted back to the old bog wall. Old tech but a good bet!!!

New forms for permits and club application process are now avaliable. Click on the 'Joining us' tab, follow the next link and go to 'Downloads' at the bottom of the page. New permits and membership cards are being printed and I should have them soon. A newsletter regarding permits will be sent out before the end of the month explaining the new scheme.

GOOD NEWS! If you're a resident of Weymouth or Portland and you pay Council Tax in either then you pay towards your local parks and gardens. Therefore you DON'T need to pay for a ticket to see the Olympic Sailing 2012 from Nothe Fort Gardens. The reason? You already PAY for their upkeep so they are YOUR gardens therefore you should NOT pay for what you already pay for. Please pass this on to EVERYONE who lives in Weymouth & Portland!

Mr Bond, Mike and so on - No, I haven't sold my kit but I have to admit to being out a handful of times last year and it ain't been warm enough this far BUT rest assured... I am BACK and shall be asserting my stamp back on home turf... This means the usual 400 meter exclusion zone around me. Right then! Anyone up for a social gathering toward end of this month to kick off the season proper? Ideas on a postcard...
