Windsurfing has always been a popular alternative to kite surfing and many avid kite boarders have come from windsurfing. The Olympic sailing waters of Portland Harbour home of the 2012 windsurf events are well presented with shops from where to purchase new and used windsurfing equipment including sailboard hire facilities. Both Windtek and Weymouth Watersports have a selection of new, used and second hand windsurfing equipment for sale to buy or to hire and both can offer lessons in sailboarding.
